Red Raider Soccer Camps

John Walker Soccer Complex

Address: 10th & Texas Tech Parkway, Lubbock, Texas, 79409

The John Walker Soccer Complex features a 1,500-seat grandstand designed to keep fans close to the action and includes a soccer house outfitted with team locker rooms, athletic training facilities, coaches' offices, coaches' lounge, the Red Raider lounge (a public lounge), a team lounge equipped with a state-of-the art video system for film study, a team weight room, and an equipment room. Players enjoy a "boot room" located immediately inside the facility as a place dedicated to their footwear.

Construction of the soccer complex began in 2006 with the turf soccer pitch installed in time for the 2008 season and the rest of the facility completed in time for the 2009 campaign. Since then, the $5 million facility recently underwent a $1 million upgrade project in 2023, replacing its artificial turf with state-of-the-art natural grass. During the grass's inaugural season, Texas Tech Women's Soccer achieved an undefeated record and clinched the title of Big XII Conference Champions. Ample outdoor warm up areas are ensured by virtue of a separate practice pitch south of the main complex.

The John Walker Soccer Complex was designed by Parkhill Smith and Cooper, and features an iron entry gate emblazoned with the Double T. The gate, designed by Lars Stanley Metalworks of Austin is part of the university's award-winning public art collection. Lee Lewis Construction served as the contractor for the project.

John Walker is CEO and president of EnerVest Management Partners in Houston. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1968 with a bachelor of business administration degree in finance.

The Gerald Myers Indoor Soccer Facility
The Texas Tech soccer program officially unveiled the Gerald Myers Indoor Soccer Facility in October 2012.

The facility was completed in 165 days and was constructed over the existing Field Turf practice fields adjacent to the John Walker Soccer Complex. The building is both heated and cooled and is within walking distance of the player's lounge, locker rooms and coaches offices housed within the team field house.

The 37,800 square foot soccer-specific training facility sits directly south of the playing field at the John Walker Soccer Complex, and will provide the Red Raiders a state-of-the-art climate-controlled training facility.
